I’m Charlee. I love yoga but, like a lot of people, I was initially put off by the “bells and smells” approach. I teach yoga that stays firmly down-to-earth and doesn’t take itself too seriously. You won’t find any chanting, complicated Sanskrit terms or awkward partner yoga with strangers in my classes. I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from yoga, including introverts, atheists and skeptics!
My classes are accessible to all and suitable for complete beginners. We do gentle yoga, where the emphasis is on noticing patterns and habits instead of making pretty shapes or breaking a sweat. We look for useful insights that can be used off the mat, in our everyday lives.
I’m currently studying for my IYN 500 hour qualification, with AcquaViva School of Yoga. I’ve attended Embodied Yoga Principles teacher training with Mark Walsh, and am currently enrolled in a mindfulness meditation teacher training course and an anatomy refresher course. After discovering yoga in my late teens, I studied the ashtanga tradition, and became a regular practitioner. I spent the next fifteen years practicing yoga, across many disciplines and with many wonderful teachers, until eventually deciding to become a teacher myself. I’m registered with the Independent Yoga Network.
